Trump Locks In Border Funding Through 2029 — Democrats Can't Touch It

President Trump signed the Secure America Act on June 10, fully funding ICE and Border Patrol through 2029, and there's not a single thing Chuck Schumer can do about it. While the entire media was busy hyperventilating about Iran strikes and congressional soap operas, Congress actually did its job for once.

I know. Try not to faint.

The bill eliminates the annual appropriations fight over DHS funding — you know, that little tradition where Democrats hold border enforcement hostage every single budget cycle like clockwork. For years, we've watched the same movie: Republicans push for border security dollars, Democrats threaten a government shutdown, and somehow ICE ends up with a budget that couldn't secure a Walmart parking lot. That movie just got cancelled.

Speaker Johnson rallied House Republicans after months of stalemate to get this across the finish line. Months. Because apparently even when we control both chambers, getting Republicans to agree on something is like herding cats through a car wash. But Johnson got it done, and President Trump's signature made it permanent — or at least as permanent as anything gets in Washington, which is through 2029.

Let's talk about what this actually means in plain English. Full funding for ICE. Full funding for Border Patrol. Not "we'll figure it out next fiscal year" funding. Not "subject to continuing resolution" funding. Done. Locked in. The kind of certainty that lets agents actually do their jobs instead of wondering if their paychecks are going to bounce every October.

This is the legislative equivalent of Trump building a wall around the wall's budget. Democrats can scream, they can hold press conferences with tears streaming down their faces about "families being torn apart," they can write strongly worded letters to absolutely nobody — but the money is allocated. It's like putting your border security in a trust fund that Chuck Schumer can't raid no matter how many tantrums he throws on the Senate floor.

And the timing here is beautiful. We just watched a dozen Republicans nearly blow up the Big Beautiful Bill last week. We've seen RINO after RINO try to water down every enforcement priority this administration has. But the Secure America Act sailed through because even the squishiest Republican knows you can't go home to your district and explain why you voted against funding the people who keep fentanyl out of your kid's school.

Not the Bee reported on the signing, and credit where it's due — this story got buried under about fourteen other news cycles. That's how Washington works. The boring stuff that actually matters gets zero airtime while everyone argues about whatever trending nonsense is dominating the timeline.

So here's where we are: border enforcement is funded for the remainder of Trump's term. No more annual hostage-taking. No more Democrats using DHS appropriations as a bargaining chip to sneak amnesty provisions into must-pass spending bills. No more of that garbage.

We voted for this. We got it. Enjoy it, folks — because moments where the government actually delivers on a campaign promise are rarer than a Democrat who can define the word "woman."
