Remind me again — which side is the "threat to democracy"? Because leftist streamer Hasan Piker just went on camera and declared that "those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable" after the Virginia Supreme Court struck down Democrats' rigged redistricting maps in a 4-3 decision on Friday. And the mainstream media reaction has been a collective shrug.
Funny how that works. Trump tells people to "peacefully and patriotically" make their voices heard, and he gets impeached. Piker — a guy who has espoused antisemitic rhetoric — openly hints at violent revolution, and the "democracy defenders" can't even muster a press release.
Here's what actually happened: the Virginia Supreme Court ruled that the voter-approved redistricting map — the one Democrats spent a jaw-dropping $66 million to push through — was passed with procedural errors that violated the state constitution. The maps would have handed Democrats a 10-1 advantage in U.S. House races, up from the current 6-5 edge. Instead, Virginia will use the same district maps from the 2022 and 2024 elections, per Fox News.
Ten to one. They weren't drawing fair maps. They were building a fortress.
RNC Chairman Joe Gruters, who spearheaded the lawsuit that brought the maps down, didn't mince words. "Democrats just learned that when you try to rig elections, you lose," Gruters said. "The RNC led the charge in court against this blatant power grab, where Virginia Democrats poured more than $66 million."

Naturally, the Democratic meltdown was immediate and spectacular. Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia tried the straight-faced approach: "Unlike Republican-led states that have redrawn their maps through backroom deals, the Virginia General Assembly let the people decide for themselves in a free and fair election." Tim, the court just ruled the process violated the state constitution. That's not "free and fair." That's "we got caught."
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries went full drama. "The decision to overturn an entire election is an unprecedented and undemocratic action that cannot stand," he said, adding that Democrats are "exploring all options" to fight the ruling. Exploring all options. When Republicans say that, it's an insurrection. When Democrats say it, it's civic engagement.
Virginia House Speaker Don Scott tried the measured approach: "We respect the court. But we will keep fighting for a democracy where voters — not politicians — have the final say." Translation: we respect the court, but we're going to ignore the court.
Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger voiced "strong disappointment," which is politician-speak for "we just lost our cheat code."
Meanwhile, both President Trump and former Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin praised the ruling. Because when you actually follow the constitution, the results tend to favor the people who didn't try to rig the game.
But let's circle back to Hasan Piker, because the media sure won't. This is a guy with a massive online following openly calling violent revolution "inevitable" because a court said Democrats broke the rules. That's not political commentary. That's incitement. And if any conservative streamer had said the same thing after any court loss, the FBI would already be pulling their subscriber data.
Democrats spent $66 million trying to lock in a decade of House seats. The Virginia Supreme Court said no. And their response was to cry about democracy while one of their loudest voices called for blood. These people don't want democracy. They want power. And when they can't buy it, rig it, or legislate it, apparently violence is just "inevitable."
