Illegal Border Crossings Hit Historic Low — The Media Buried It

Illegal border crossings have plunged to their lowest levels in recorded history under President Trump, the wall is going up at a pace that would make a construction foreman weep with pride, and deportation flights are running on schedule — but you wouldn’t know any of this if you relied on the mainstream media for your news, because they’ve decided this story simply doesn’t exist.

Weird how a network that ran 24/7 coverage of “kids in cages” can’t seem to find five minutes for the most dramatic border security improvement in a generation. Must be a scheduling conflict!

Remember what they told us? Trump’s border policies would “never work.” The wall was a “medieval vanity project.” Mass deportation was “logistically impossible” and “morally repugnant.” Every anchor on every legacy network repeated these lines with the kind of smug certainty that only comes from never having lived within five hundred miles of the southern border. They quoted “immigration experts” — the same experts who designed the open-border catastrophe of the Biden years — and assured their viewers that Trump was chasing a fantasy.

The numbers say otherwise. Customs and Border Protection data shows encounters at the southern border have dropped by over 80% from the peak of the Biden-era crisis. Entire sectors that were processing thousands of illegal crossings per day are now reporting double digits. The “Remain in Mexico” policy is back. Asylum fraud is being cracked down on. And the physical barrier — the wall that we were told couldn’t and wouldn’t be built — is adding miles of new construction every month.

So where’s the breathless coverage? Where are the reporters standing at the border with wind blowing through their hair, delivering the good news? They’re not there. The same outlets that embedded themselves at the border to broadcast every emotional moment during the Biden years have pulled their crews and moved on. It’s almost as if the coverage was never about the border at all — it was about the narrative.

The media’s playbook here is transparent. When border numbers were catastrophic under Biden, they blamed “root causes” and “climate migration” and “global trends” — anything to avoid blaming the administration that threw open the doors. Now that the numbers have cratered under Trump, they’re silent. No credit. No analysis of what changed. Just a quiet pivot to the next Trump scandal du jour.

Meanwhile, communities along the border are experiencing something they haven’t felt in years — normalcy. Ranchers in Texas and Arizona who spent the Biden years finding trash, abandoned clothing, and worse on their property are reporting that the traffic has stopped. Border towns that were overwhelmed with processing demands are seeing their resources freed up. Local law enforcement officers who were stretched to the breaking point can actually do their jobs again.

The deportation operations are the other story the media won’t touch. ICE is removing criminal aliens at a pace that would have been unthinkable two years ago. Gang members, drug traffickers, and individuals with violent criminal records are being located, detained, and sent home. The media’s response has been to find the most sympathetic individual case they can and run it on a loop, hoping you’ll forget about the MS-13 member who got deported last Tuesday.

Every policy Trump implemented at the border was called cruel, racist, or unconstitutional by the same people who watched five million illegal crossings happen under Biden and called it “compassion.” Their definition of compassion apparently includes fentanyl pouring across the border, children being trafficked by cartels, and American citizens being murdered by people who shouldn’t have been in the country in the first place.

The wall works. Enforcement works. Consequences work. The media knows it, the Democrats know it, and the American people definitely know it — which is exactly why it won’t be the lead story on the evening news tonight.

Record-low crossings, and the press can’t find a camera. That tells you everything about who they work for, and it sure isn’t you.
